The  Girl of Ink of Stars . The story follows a young girl called Isabella. Being the daughter of a cartographer (a person that draws maps), she longs for exploration and adventure. Her house is filled with many beautiful maps that her father has created.

 Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

This book is very upsetting there is a series of unfortunate events following one after each other told from the viewpoint of the horse.

Wonder by R.J.Palacio.

This book is a moving story about a young boy called Auggie who has a deformation of the face and everyone looks at him but Auggie is going into High School for the first time and he is more than worried as he has been home-schooled for the whole of his life.

“My name is August. I wont describe what I look like. Whatever your thinking its probably worse”. August is also worried about making friends and is realising what people are really like. A story of friendship over adversity.

The Beast of Buckingham Palace. by David Walliams.

I am only part way through this book but it is brilliant for most ages. This book is a new book and is about a  boy called Alfred who is twelve years old and has never known life outside Buckingham Palace. Evil forces are at work and Prince Alfred must go to battle with the king of beasts.

Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson.

The Twits by Roald Dahl

This book is about a married couple called Mr Twit and Mrs Twit. Mr Twit is a repulsive old man who, when he eats he ends up getting all of his food in his beard rather than in his mouth! Mrs Twit is just as bad as she is a cruel and evil woman whom shown horrible acts of cruelty throughout the story. She has a cane which she uses to threaten young children and animals.  They also keep a family of muggle-wumps and they have a dead tree which they cover with extremely sticky glue and trap birds in to make a bird pie.

Who do you think will defeat the evil Twits in this story?

Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl.

Fantastic Mr Fox is about a cunning fox who every night gets food for his family and wife but where he gets it from is a very dangerous place for a Fox like him.  Mr Fox goes to Farmer Boggis (a Chicken Farmer) , Farmer Bunce, (a Duck and Goose Farmer) and Farmer Bean, (a Turkey and Apple Farmer’s)  storage huts and steals all there food!  Cunning Mr Fox has caused the three Farmer’s to do whatever they have to do to cut off the Fox’s food supply but all of the animals work together to survive.

Who do you think will win?

The book of the Month: The Boy the Mole , the Fox and the Horse. Personally, I believe this book is a beautiful book ,with inspirational messages on every page and it also has gorgeous illustrations.   I definitely recommend it for all readers.
